- Proposal Development: Lead the preparation, writing, and editing of RFQ and RFP submissions, ensuring content is accurate, compliant, and tailored to evaluation criteria.
- Technical Writing: Translate construction and engineering information into clear, compelling narratives that highlight the company’s strengths and client value.
- Collaboration: Partner with estimators, project managers, and subject matter experts to capture methodologies, execution strategies, and risk management approaches for inclusion in proposals.
- Content Management: Build, organize, and maintain a library of templates, project sheets, resumes, and boilerplate materials; update content regularly to reflect company expertise and industry best practices.
- Quality Control: Review and refine submissions for clarity, consistency, accuracy, and alignment with corporate branding and client requirements.
- Market Awareness: Research industry trends, competitor practices, and innovative construction techniques to enhance proposal strategies.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Foster strong working relationships with internal teams and external consultants, facilitating collaboration and timely input.
- Continuous Improvement: Conduct post-submission reviews to identify lessons learned, improve processes, and strengthen future submissions.
- Flexibility: Undertake additional assignments as directed by management to support evolving business needs
The Proposal Writer reports to the Vice President of Pre-Construction. Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience developing and delivering RFQ/RFP submissions within fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator), SharePoint, or CRM platforms is an asset.
- Proven technical writing skills with the ability to provide a professional writing sample.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor technical information to different audiences
- Strong organizational and time management skills, capable of managing multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and coordinate input from multiple stakeholders
- Strong communication skills
