Job Title: Proposal Writer – Civil Construction
Reports To: Pre-Construction Manager
The Proposal Writer/Technical Writer is integral to our business development efforts and involves managing the tools and processes for responding to RFQs, RFPs, Submittals and business processes. The successful candidate will have experience in civil construction, ensuring compliant submittals, and adeptly coordinating input from team members, consultants, and stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Operate in accordance to and uphold Emil Anderson Group (EAG) Core Values in all aspects of your work.
- Uphold an unwavering commitment to developing a zero-injury culture and meeting the Paving the Way to Zero goals.
- Develop and write comprehensive proposals and technical documents tailored to the civil construction industry.
- Manage the proposal process from start to finish, ensuring submission deadlines are met and requirements are complied with.
- Utilize tools and software to efficiently manage RFQ and RFI processes.
- Collaborate and coordinate closely with internal teams, consultants, and stakeholders to gather required information and insights for proposals.
- Ensure that all written communications are clear, compliant, and tailored to the target audience.
- Maintain a database of proposal content and previous submissions for future use.
- Conduct research to gather relevant data and industry insights to enhance proposals.
Competencies:
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Proven experience in proposal writing and technical writing, preferably within the civil construction industry (an asset).
- Familiarity with compliant submittal processes in the industry
- Strong understanding of RFQ and RFI processes, with a demonstrated ability to manage tools and platforms related to these processes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and coordinate input from multiple sources.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proven ability to learn new things and committed to continuous improvement.
- Able to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-directed and able to work collaboratively.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree: Preferred fields include Engineering, Construction Management, English, Communications, or a related field (an asset).
- Relevant Certifications: Technical Writing, Proposal Management, or related field (an asset)
The wage range for this position will be discussed during the interview stage, taking into consideration candidate qualifications and experience.
