Professional Shopper (Immidiate)

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Professional Shopper to fulfill orders for schools and childcare centers. This is a dynamic role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about supporting the local educational community. As a vital part of our service, you will be responsible for managing and completing the daily shopping needs of our clients, ensuring they have the supplies necessary for their classrooms.

This role is similar to being an Instacart or other app-based shopper but with a specialized focus on educational and children's supplies. Your daily routine will involve visiting multiple vendors, from big-box stores and wholesale clubs to craft and specialty educational supply stores, to complete all scheduled orders.

Duties

• Order Fulfillment: Accurately shop for, purchase, and package a diverse range of items based on client-specific lists. Products include, but are not limited to, art supplies, educational toys, classroom materials, snacks, and cleaning supplies.
• Physical Demands: This is an active and physically demanding role. You must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull items weighing up to 50 lbs on a regular basis. The job requires frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching to locate and retrieve products.
• Logistics Management: Efficiently plan your shopping route to visit multiple vendors in a single day, maximizing productivity and meeting all delivery deadlines. Your ability to navigate various store layouts and traffic patterns will be key to your success.
• Communication: Serve as the primary contact for clients during the shopping process. Proactively communicate about product availability, suggest substitutions when necessary, and provide timely updates on order status.
• Record Keeping: Maintain meticulous records of all purchases, submitting receipts and expense reports in a timely manner for reimbursement.

Requirements

• Experience: Proven experience in a high-volume shopping or delivery role is highly preferred
• Experience as an Instacart, Shipt, or other app-based personal shopper is highly preferred.
• Reliability: You must have a dependable, insured vehicle, a valid driver's license, and a clean driving record. Proof of vehicle insurance is mandatory.
• Background Check: A successful candidate must pass a comprehensive criminal background check, as this role involves working with organizations that serve children.
• Previous experience in a warehouse or distribution environment is preferred.
• Knowledge of shipping and receiving processes is essential
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow order specifications accurately.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work effectively in a team setting.
• Attention to detail for inspecting products and meeting quality standards.
• Effective communication skills for reporting issues and coordinating with supervisors.
• Physical stamina for lifting and moving products.
• Regularly lift and move items weighing up to 30 pounds.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedures in English.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
