Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Dog Trainer to join our team. Duties
- Conduct individual and group training sessions for dogs of all ages and skill levels.
- Develop customized training plans based on the specific needs of each dog and their owner.
- Utilize positive reinforcement techniques to encourage desired behaviors in dogs.
- Monitor the progress of training programs and adjust techniques as necessary to achieve optimal results.
- Provide guidance to pet owners on effective handling, care, and training practices.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment for both dogs and staff during training sessions.
- Assist with animal handling, restraint, and care as needed, including feeding, grooming, and exercising dogs.
- Collaborate with veterinary professionals when necessary to ensure the health and safety of the animals.
Requirements
- Proven experience in dog training or a related field is essential.
- Background in veterinary care (veterinary technician or assistant experience) is highly desirable.
- Strong skills in animal handling, restraint, and care for various species including dogs and equines.
- Excellent customer service skills to effectively communicate with pet owners.
- Experience in kennel operations or pet grooming is a plus.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when required during training sessions or animal care activities.
