Our salon is looking for a Professional Dog Groomer who shares our commitment to providing exceptional care for our clients and contributing to the positive, supportive environment our team fosters every day.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Welcoming all clients in a friendly manner as they walk in to our salon.
- Performing check-in and out processes by appointment.
- Educating clients on coat type, condition, behaviours and haircuts that best suit pet parents and their pet’s needs.
- Recommending products and services to clients to suit their pet’s needs.
- Understanding our salon policies to effectively communicate our practices to pet parents.
- Providing exceptional grooms according to check-in information discussed with pet parents as well as breed specific clips.
- Completing the entire service of dog grooming including the bath, blow dry, brush out, nail trimming and ear cleaning.
- Ensuring the safety of pets during the grooming process.
- Identifying and informing pet parents of any health concerns.
- Monitoring pet’s behaviour and signs of stress during our care and using your discretion to discontinue the service when needed.
- Performing routine cleaning tasks, including sanitizing equipment and surfaces and maintaining hygiene standards of the salon.
- Completing opening and closing procedures.
- Answering client inquiries and booking appointments via phone call, text message and emails as needed.
- Screening new clients prior to booking an appointment to ensure our salon environment is suitable for the pet’s needs.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or GED.
- Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
- Dog Grooming Certificate from a recognized Dog Grooming School/Academy.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Experience using GrooMore software is an asset.
- 2 or more years of Dog Grooming experience is an asset but not a requirement.
- Understanding of behaviour and signs of stress in pets is an asset.
