GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY:
Weaving/Warping/Laser Technician is responsible for the efficient operation and maintenance of our laser machine, weaving looms and warpers, ensuring that production meets customer specifications and quality standards. This role includes operating machinery, performing maintenance tasks, adhering to safety protocols, and participating in continuous improvement initiatives within the production environment.
NATURE & SCOPE OF POSITION:
- This is an hourly, non-exempt position, which qualifies for approved overtime in accordance with the Alberta Labour Standards Act
- Hours of work: Monday – Friday, 4:15pm – 12:15pm
- Must be able to train during day shift, 8:15am – 4:15pm
POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Operate laser cutting and engraving unit, as per the Laser Standard Operating Procedures
- Load and unload materials onto the laser equipment
- Set up weaving/warping machines according to approved weave/warping draw definitions
- Manufacture products in accordance with customer specifications
- Fix stops and run looms & warper efficiently, perform beam change
- Inspect looms & warper and perform maintenance, clean up oil and grease drips
- Label boxes with fabric and make samples when requested, Beam lot tracking
- Operate sewing/serging machines
- Follow 5S requirements
- When quality issues are identified, inspect and remove defective products, inform Team Lead of any issues
- Communicates well through spoken and written English language
- Clean area and make it ready for the next shift as well as weekly, monthly, yearly maintenance
- Attend meetings and training sessions
- Participate in inventory counts and preparation
- Fill out daily production paperwork, follow NCR processes and fill out paperwork accordingly
- Read and respond to emails
- Follow all safety procedures and policies
- Undergo hearing test within first three months of employment

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Grade 12 or GED and basic math skills
- Good written and spoken English
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
- Forklift training is an asset
- Strong communication skills and ability to work as a team
