Job Summary
Lady of Learning Tutoring is looking for enthusiastic and knowledgeable tutors to join our team! We provide in-home tutoring for students in Grades 1–12, with a strong focus on Math, English, Chemistry, and Physics. Must be able to travel to Burlington even for 1hr sessions. If you have a solid academic background, know the Ontario curriculum well, and enjoy working with children and teens, we want to hear from you.
Please DO NOT apply if you are unable to travel to Oakville and Burlington, or if you are not comfortable tutoring students up to grade 12.
This is a flexible, part-time role ideal for university students, recent grads, or professionals with teaching or tutoring experience. Our students are located mainly in Oakville, Burlington, and Mississauga, so you must have a reliable vehicle for local travel.
Duties
- Provide one-on-one tutoring sessions to students up until Grade 12
- Deliver instruction aligned with the Ontario curriculum
- Travel to students’ homes
- Build strong rapport with students and motivate them to reach their goals
- Adapt lessons to suit individual learning styles and academic needs
- Track and report student progress to parents and/or the company
- Maintain a professional and encouraging learning environment
Qualifications
- Required:
- Must be confident tutoring Math, Chemistry, Biology, and Physics
up to Grade 12
- Prior tutoring or teaching experience in Ontario
- Completed high school and University or are enrolled in University in Ontario (must be familiar with the Ontario curriculum)
- B.Ed (in progress or completed)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Owns a reliable vehicle for travel to Oakville, Burlington
- Available to tutor in person
- Responsible, punctual, and able to work independently
Assets (Nice to Have):
- Post-secondary education in a related field (e.g., science, education, math)
- Knowledge or experience in managing or understanding child behaviour
- OCT certification
