Overview
Apex Educational Consulting Services Inc. is seeking educators to join our team and provide personalized academic support to students of varying ages and skill levels. As a Tutor, you will play a crucial role in helping students achieve their educational goals by fostering a positive learning environment and adapting your teaching methods to meet individual needs. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in boosting confidence, enhancing understanding, and promoting a love of learning in our students.
Duties
- Assess students’ individual learning needs and, when applicable, develop customized lesson and instructional materials plans based on educational standards to address specific academic challenges.
- Provide one-on-one and, occasionally, small group tutoring sessions in various subject areas, including as math, science, language arts, and social sciences.
- Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback and adjusting instructional methods as necessary.
- Collaborate with parents, teachers, and other educational staff to ensure a comprehensive approach to student learning and development.
- Stay up-to-date with educational best practices and incorporate innovative teaching techniques.
- Assist students in developing effective study habits, time management skills, and test-taking strategies.
- Maintain accurate records of tutoring sessions, student progress, and feedback for future reference.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in tutoring, teaching, or working with students in an educational setting.
- OCT certification and/or experience working with students with special needs is an asset.
- Strong knowledge of curriculum standards and teaching methodologies for the relevant subject areas.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and parents.
- Ability to adapt teaching styles to meet diverse learning needs and preferences.
- Proficiency in using educational technology and online tutoring platforms when applicable.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in tracking student progress and maintaining records.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate student schedules.
- A background check may be required prior to employment.
Job Type: Freelance
Pay: $25.00-$50.00 per hour
