Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Press Brake Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operating press brake machines and will be responsible for fabricating and assembling metal components according to specifications. This role requires attention to detail, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to read blueprints effectively.
Duties
- Operate press brake machines to bend, form, and shape metal sheets according to specifications.
- Utilize precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers to ensure accuracy in fabrication.
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine the correct specifications for each job.
- Perform quality inspections on finished products to ensure they meet company standards.
- Collaborate with team members in the assembly of components and ensure proper tooling is used throughout the process.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
- Assist with CNC programming as needed, including operating CNC laser cutting, CNC milling machines, and CNC lathes.
- Utilize hand tools and machinery for various tasks including welding, fabrication, and electrical discharge machining.
- Operate forklifts and cranes safely when moving materials around the shop floor.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Press Brake Operator or in a similar manufacturing role.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in machining, fabrication, and assembly processes.
- Familiarity with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles is preferred.
- Proficient in using basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to machining tasks.
- Experience with plasma cutting, stamping presses, and other related machinery is a plus.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail with an emphasis on quality inspection practices.
