El Taquero, our bustling downtown Kelowna taqueria, is seeking an experienced kitchen professional to join our team. We’re looking for someone with proven experience in Mexican cuisine — from prepping authentic ingredients to executing traditional recipes — and the skills to support both daily service and catering operations.
Wage: $22–$25/hour + tips ($4–$6/hour)
Hours: 25–40 per week, mostly daytime shifts
What you’ll be doing / Lo que harás:
- Preparing authentic Mexican ingredients and dishes with consistency and precision
- Following standard portion sizes, cooking methods, and quality standards
- Butchering and cleaning pork, beef, fish, poultry, and shellfish
- Washing, peeling, cutting, and portioning produce and proteins
- Operating broilers, ovens, grills, fryers, sauté burners, and more
- Receiving, storing, and organizing food supplies to prevent spoilage
- Maintaining a clean, sanitized, and organized workstation
- Assisting with preparation, packaging, and delivery of catering orders and meal kits
- Supporting the kitchen team during service and events
- Completing opening/closing checklists and supporting smooth operations
