Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and knowledgeable Pre-natal/Post-natal Fitness and/or Yoga Instructor to join our wellness team. The ideal candidate will have specialized training in supporting expectant and new mothers, with a strong understanding of safe movement practices, modifications, and the physical and emotional needs during pregnancy and postpartum recovery. This role involves leading engaging classes, offering personalized guidance, and creating a nurturing, inclusive environment that empowers women through every stage of motherhood.
Duties
- Lead safe and effective pre-natal and post-natal yoga/fitness classes, adapted to the varying needs of participants.
- Develop class plans that balance strength, flexibility, breathwork, mindfulness, and restorative practices to support maternal well-being.
- Provide clear instructions, demonstrations, and modifications tailored to pregnancy/postpartum stages and individual needs.
- Educate participants on safe alignment, posture, and exercises that enhance core stability, mobility, and recovery.
- Foster a welcoming, supportive community where mothers feel encouraged, connected, and empowered.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and calming studio environment before and after classes.
- Stay updated on current guidelines, research, and best practices in maternal fitness and yoga instruction.
- Collaborate with the team to promote programs and events, providing excellent customer service and care to clients.
Requirements
- Certification in Yoga Instruction and/or Fitness Training with a specialization in Pre-natal/Post-natal practices.
- Proven teaching experience with expectant and/or new mothers.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; bilingual abilities (English & French) are an asset.
- Ability to provide individualized modifications while ensuring group class flow and safety.
- Empathy, patience, and professionalism in guiding clients through physical and emotional changes.
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development in maternal wellness.
