Pool Maintenance Technician (Seasonal)

Job Description: Pool Maintenance Technician

• A pool maintenance technician will be primarily responsible for maintaining and servicing residential and commercial swimming pools and hot tubs during service calls under the supervision of a senior pool technician
• This position includes a variety of responsibilities and tasks including: weekly pool and hot tub maintenance, pool openings & closings, minor service calls.
• No experience is required, training will be provided
• Starting wage will be based on previous experience

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Cleaning, maintaining, balancing, opening & closing of residential and commercial swimming pools
• Truck & warehouse organization
• Water quality testing and chemistry adjustment
• Operation of gas powered, electrical and hand held tools/equipment
• Operation of pool cleaning equipment
• Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPENTENCIES

• Good record keeping, ability to use company implemented technology to track company forms, working hours, job time, job problems, work orders, etc.
• Ability to learn quickly and follow instructions/procedures
• Ability to work both as an individual and in a team environment
• Attention to detail

• Ability to handle the physical demands of the job
• Possess excellent customer service skills
• Be mechanically inclined
• Must have a valid G class driver’s license and a clean driving record with a minimum of 2 years driving experience
• Be bondable with professional appearance, demeanor, and attitude
• Solid interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
• Motivated team player
• Previous pool and spa experience and equipment knowledge is an asset
• Plumbing or HVAC license or experience is an asset
• Landscaping experience is an asset
• CPO certification is an asset

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

• Willing to work longer hours during peak season
• Work in all weather conditions
• Light to heavy lifting (up to 50lbs)
• Steel toe footwear is required
• Tools will be supplied
• Uniform will be supplied

Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract, Seasonal
Contract length: 4.5 months

Pay: $18.00-$22.00 per hour

Education:

• Secondary School (preferred)

Experience:

• Customer service: 2 years (preferred)
• Pool maintenance: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

• Class G Licence (required)
