About Us: At Zebra Plumbing & Heating, we are a reputable and growing plumbing and heating company proudly serving the Calgary area and surrounding communities focusing on residential and commercial new builds. We are accepting applications for Plumbers with experience ranging from Journeyman to 1st Year Apprentices to work at our new and exciting project in Calgary.
Position 1: Plumbing Apprentice
Job Summary: We are seeking an eager and motivated Plumbing Apprentice to join our skilled team.
Responsibilities:
- Assist Journeyman Plumbers with the installation, repair, and maintenance of plumbing systems (water, drain, waste, vent, gas).
- Cut, assemble, and install pipes and fittings under supervision.
- Learn basic troubleshooting techniques for plumbing issues.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations, building codes, and company policies.
- Transport materials and tools efficiently to and from job sites.
- Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor with clients and team members.
Qualifications:
- Basic understanding of hand and power tools is an asset.
- Excellent work ethic, reliability, and punctuality.
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, bend, stoop, and work in various environmental conditions.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driving record (preferred).
Position 2: Journeyman Plumber
Job Summary: We are looking for a skilled and experienced Journeyman Plumber to become a key member of our growing team.
Responsibilities:
- Independently install, repair, and maintain residential and/or commercial plumbing systems, including water supply lines, drainage systems, gas lines, fixtures, and appliances.
- Accurately read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine optimal layout and material requirements for plumbing systems.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot complex plumbing issues, identify root causes, and implement effective, lasting solutions.
- Perform comprehensive routine maintenance on plumbing systems to ensure longevity and prevent future problems.
- Skillfully cut, thread, bend, and assemble pipes, valves, and fittings using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with clients, thoroughly explaining plumbing issues and proposed solutions.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and stocked work vehicle and job site.
- Participate in on-call rotations as required to provide emergency services.
Qualifications:
- Valid Journeyman Plumber certification/license in Alberta.
- Comprehension in reading and interpreting blueprints and schematics preferred.
- Physical ability to perform demanding tasks, including lifting up to 75 lbs, climbing ladders, bending, stooping, kneeling, and working in confined spaces or various weather conditions.
