This position is open to all qualified OPSEU staff throughout Lakeridge Health commencing 10 June 2025 and closing at 11:59 pm on 24 June 2025.
DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES:
To participate in a variety of medical physics related technical support acti vities including quality assurance checks of eq uipment, patient specific delivery quality assuance measurements, radiation protection procedures, dose measurements, and clinical projects under the guidance of a Medical Physicist. Specific duties include:
" Perform quality assurance checks on radiotherapy and medical physics equipment, consistent with the Medical Physics Quality Assurance Program under the supervision of a Medical Physicist and maintain accurate records of such Quality Assurance checks.
" Participate in commissioning of radiation therapy equipment under the direction of a Medical Physicist.
" Perform dose measurements for treatment so as to validate patient specific treatment plans prior to clinical delivery.
" Participate with Medical Physicists in conducting projects and investigations to help bring new techniques and equipment into routine clinical use.
" Be able to work evenings, as required, with variable daily working times in order to have access to radiotherapy units and other physics equipment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
" Bachelor's degree in Medical Physics, Physical Sciences or Engineering.
" Previous experience as a Physics Associate in a Cancer Centre preferred.
" Demonstrated knowledge of radiation physics through education or practical experience.
" Previous experience with radiation dose measurements.
" Demonstrated computer skills and ability to use spreadsheets, word processors and databases.
" Programming experience and experience with mathematical software packages an asset.
" Good organizational and data management skills.
" Excellent instrumentation skills as demonstrated by experience in performing measurements.
" Good oral and written communication skills
" Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to function as part of an interdisciplinary team.
" Must have satisfactory performance record;

" Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety programs and practices including staff, patient and environmental safety and participation in regular in-services in this area; and;

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
The terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the Collective Agreement between the Hospital and OPSEU Local 348.
