About the Role:
Denman Athletics is hiring a full-time and a part-time Personal Trainer/Strength & Conditioning Coach to join our coaching team. This role is ideal for someone who is serious about building a long-term career in the fitness industry, is passionate about strength and conditioning, and thrives in a team-driven environment.
As part of our team, you’ll coach a mix of Small Group Personal Training (SGPT) sessions and group conditioning style classes. You’ll work with clients across a range of abilities, ensuring everyone is progressing with smart, effective programming and consistent coaching support.
Responsibilities:
- Coach SGPT sessions (1–6 clients) using structured, progressive strength training programs
- Lead classes focused on conditioning and movement quality
- Onboard new clients through isometric and movement assessments and goal setting
- Participate in regular client check-ins and training reviews
- Contribute to gym-wide events, social media content, and community engagement
- Assist with gym operations, including session prep and maintaining a clean training space
- Attend staff meetings and take part in ongoing coach education
Availability Requirements:
- Must be available for a combination of early mornings, evenings, and Saturday mornings
- Weekly schedule may include split shifts and designated time for administrative and development tasks
Requirements:
- Certified in Strength & Conditioning or Personal Training (CSEP, NSCA, CF-L1+, etc.) or equivalent preferred
- A degree or diploma in kinesiology, exercise science, or a related field is an asset
- 3 years minimum experience coaching in group or semi-private settings preferred
- Relevant background in sports performance, athletic development, or competitive sport is strongly considered
- Strength and conditioning should be a core part of your own training and your coaching approach
- Confident in delivering effective cueing, regressions, and progressions for a variety of clients
- Strong communication skills and a team-first, coachable attitude
Compensation & Benefits:
This is a full-time salaried position with a range of $50,000–$70,000 annually, depending on experience and skillset. The role begins with a 3-month probationary period at the starting rate, allowing time to assess fit, performance, and skillset. Following this period, there is the potential to move into more senior positions—such as Senior Coach or Head Coach—with adjusted compensation to match increased responsibilities.
