Our Community Support Services (CSS) team provides essential services that enable our clients to thrive. Whether their disability is physical, the result of brain injury, or aging, our more than 2,000 team members assist clients in their homes and across communities, to live as independently as possible.
The opportunity:
We are currently looking to fill one Full Time Personal Support Worker in the Neighbourhood Model of Care, Assisted Living Program- Sudbury NE
Flexible schedule including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
Salary Range: $21.96-$22.81. This is including for the $3.00 per hour temporary wage enhancement from the Ontario government for hours spent directly supporting clients
Hours: 35 hours per week
Responsibilities:
- Assists clients in their own homes with non-medical activities of daily living in accordance with individual service plans and with March of Dimes Canada policies and procedures:
- Personal care
- Lifts and Transfers
- Rising/retiring
- Bowel and bladder procedures
- Meal preparation and feeding
- Range of motion exercises
- Other light housekeeping duties
- Performs duties in a professional manner, which respects the dignity and right to privacy and maintains client and staff health and safety.
The Support Services Attendants (PSW) will be required to work multiple shifts (i.e. work days, evenings, weekend rotations) that may vary between locations.
Qualifications and experience:
- PSW Certificate and experience working with working with Older Adults, experience/knowledge/understanding of Independent Living or Client directed care
- Current Standard First Aid and CPR certification
- Experience working with people with physical disabilities, experience/knowledge/understanding of Independent Living or Client based care
- Knowledge of and abilities in transferring, lifting, bowel and bladder routines and other attendant care duties
- Physical Demands Self Analysis Required upon hire
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work flexible and regularly scheduled hours
- Driver's license not required, to work in several apartment buildings within walking distance of each other.
