We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Support Worker to join our team in Mississauga, ON. Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, grooming, and dressing.
- Provide meal preparation and ensure proper nutrition for clients.
- Administer medication as prescribed and monitor client health conditions.
- Offer companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment.
- Assist with mobility and heavy lifting when necessary to ensure client safety.
- Support clients with dementia care, providing specialized attention and understanding of their needs.
- Help with hospice care and end-of-life support for clients and their families when required.
- Maintain accurate records of client care and report any changes in condition to the healthcare team.
- Collaborate with other caregivers and healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care.
Skills
- Proven experience in caregiving or related fields such as senior care or patient care.
- Knowledge of medication administration protocols and safety practices.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as needed while ensuring client safety.
- Experience in assisted living environments is a plus.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and healthcare staff.
- Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to help others are essential traits for this role.
- Familiarity with dementia care practices is highly desirable.
- A background in nursing or related healthcare fields is advantageous but not mandatory.
