Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to join our team. This role is essential in providing high-quality care to individuals in various settings, including nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and home care environments. The ideal candidate will have experience working with seniors and individuals with disabilities, demonstrating a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for those in their care.
Responsibilities
- Provide personal care assistance to clients, including bathing, grooming, and dressing.
- Administer medications as prescribed and ensure proper documentation of medication administration.
- Assist with meal preparation and ensure clients receive nutritious meals tailored to their dietary needs.
- Support clients with mobility and physical activities, including heavy lifting when necessary.
- Maintain a clean and safe living environment by performing light housekeeping tasks.
- Engage clients in meaningful activities to promote social interaction and mental well-being.
- Document patient care activities accurately and communicate any changes in client conditions to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
- Collaborate with case management teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a trusting relationship.
Requirements
- Previous experience in nursing homes, senior care, or working with individuals with disabilities is preferred.
- Knowledge of dementia care practices and medication administration is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and patient care protocols is beneficial.
- Experience in hospice care or assisted living environments is a plus.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and assist clients with mobility needs.
