We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential assistance to individuals in need of care, including seniors and those with disabilities. This role is vital in ensuring the comfort, safety, and well-being of our clients while promoting their independence and quality of life.
Duties
- Provide personal care services, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting assistance.
- Assist clients with mobility and transfers, including heavy lifting when necessary.
- Administer medication as prescribed and monitor client health conditions.
- Offer companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment.
- Help with daily living activities such as meal preparation, light housekeeping, and laundry.
- Maintain accurate records of client care and report any changes in health or behavior to the supervising nurse or caregiver.
- Support clients with dementia care, hospice care, or those residing in assisted living or nursing home facilities.
- Collaborate with family members and healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
Requirements
- Previous experience in caregiving or a related field is preferred; familiarity with senior care practices is a plus.
- Knowledge of dementia care, hospice care, and patient care techniques is beneficial.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and assist clients with mobility challenges.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Compassionate demeanor with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends if required.
- Certification in CPR/First Aid or relevant caregiving training is advantageous but not mandatory.
