Your Opportunity
Roster: 2:1 | Billion-Dollar Gold Project
Join a high-performing team on a landmark billion-dollar gold project. As the Lead – Permits & Isolations, you’ll be responsible for managing the end-to-end process of issuing work permits and implementing isolations across all energy sources. You’ll play a critical role in ensuring that all work is carried out safely, by authorised personnel, with the correct permits and isolations in place—minimising risk to all field teams on site.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Implement Permit and Isolation Procedures
Apply and maintain Primero’s procedures for issuing work permits, conducting isolations, and managing lockout/tagout processes.
- Manage the Permit-to-Work System
Oversee the full lifecycle of the permit-to-work process, including application, review, approval, and closeout.
- Coordinate and Conduct Isolations
Ensure isolations are correctly implemented for all relevant equipment and systems prior to the commencement of work.
- Train and Supervise Personnel
Deliver training and provide ongoing support to staff involved in the permit and isolation process.
- Monitor and Audit Compliance
Conduct regular audits to ensure adherence to isolation and permit procedures.
- Incident Investigation
Participate in investigations of any incidents related to permits or isolations, identifying root causes and improvement opportunities.
- Maintain Accurate Records
Keep comprehensive records of permits issued, isolations implemented, and training completed.
- Liaise with Stakeholders
Communicate effectively with operations, maintenance, and HSE personnel to coordinate safe work activities.
- Ensure Regulatory Compliance
Guarantee that all work is carried out in line with relevant legislation, industry standards, and company policies.
What You ‘Can Do’
Skills & Experience
- Strong technical understanding of industrial or construction environments and relevant safety regulations
- Expertise in permit-to-work systems and isolation procedures
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with multi-disciplinary teams
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
- Proven leadership and supervisory capabilities
- High attention to detail to ensure process accuracy and safety
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role
Qualifications
- WA Electrical Licence
- High Voltage Switching Accreditation (within the last 2 years)
- Confined Space Awareness
- Atmospheric Gas Testing
- Hot Work Principles
