As a Parts Driver, you will work a hybrid role of physical and administrative activities associated with the loading of parts, customer deliveries, collection of charges and the unloading of the parts for the dealership.
Here’s What You’ll be Doing:
- Delivers and picks up parts at various locations.
- Updates drivers log of all the visits, time and invoice numbers as required on the log. Ensures that the logs are turned in at the end of each day to the Parts Manager.
- Inspects all parts for damage before loading and reports any deficiency to the Parts Manager.
- Inspects, packages, and secures cargo for transport ensuring compliance with all Occupational Health & Safety related regulations.
- Loads parts into the delivery vehicle and ensures parts are packed properly and safely.
- Maintains distribution and delivery logs and communicates status of deliveries to the Parts Manager.
- Prepares or obtains receipts for deliveries and pickups and turns in any monies at the end of the day (a daily log of expenses to be maintained).
- Maintains company vehicles in a safe, reliable condition, ensuring that all maintenance is performed at regular intervals. Builds and assigns routes for parts deliveries and pickups.
- Monitors and updates routes as necessary.
- Keeps drivers informed of updates pertaining to any road conditions and incidents.
- Emails customers if they are missing invoices or credit notes.
- Makes sure Elite apps are updated.
- Ensures drivers are inspecting their vehicles daily and collects their Weekly Inspection checklists.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications
- Experience in the automotive field is an asset.
- Valid Ontario Driver’s License and a clean driver’s abstract.
- Ability to drive a manual transmission is an asset.
- CDK/ADP Experience is an asset.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication (verbal & written English) and customer service skills.
