Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and dedicated support worker to join our team for about three days per week from September to March. In this role, you will provide personal assistance to one adult with complex disabilities in the client's home.
Duties
- Assist the client with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, toileting, and meal preparation.
- Follow Infection control protocols: hand washing before and after any feeding or toileting.
- Provide client observation and monitoring to ensure safety and well-being.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of living spaces, ensuring a safe environment for the client.
- Administer medication as prescribed and assist with the care plan tailored to individual needs.
- Utilize equipment such as wheelchair, bath lift, and leg braces for mobility assistance; and speech-generating technology for communication support.
- Engage the client in meaningful activities that promote social interaction and cognitive stimulation.
- Chart daily symptoms, feeding, toileting, meds; and report any changes in client health status to the employer.
- Collaborate with the employer to implement effective care strategies.
Requirements
- Previous experience in disability support or caregiving is an asset.
- Emergency First Aid and CPR certification is required by start date.

- Strong communication skills are needed to collaborate with other team members.
- A compassionate demeanor and a commitment to providing high-quality support services.
- References will be required for any candidate selected after the interview process.

- There is a dog and a cat in the home.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 25 per week
