Position Summary
Internally referred to as Park Maintenance III
This position is responsible for providing semi-skilled manual labour involving the use of hand and/or common labouring tools and operating mid-sized and specialized motorized operating equipment. This is a seasonal position with a non-standard 40hr work week involving day, afternoon, and evening shifts.
This is a seasonal position that runs till August 31.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
- Adhering to all safety and environmental protection programs, policies and procedures to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
- Operating motorized equipment (ride on sweepers, pressure washer, forklift)
- Completing digital daily logs which may include vehicle inspections, vehicle maintenance requests, pre-use equipment inspections, field-level hazard assessments, and time tracking
- Performing labour assignments ranging from: maintaining cleanliness of the park, installing event fencing, furniture moves, painting, labour support for trades, and more.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will be proactive, optimistic and have worked in a dynamic environment where they have experience delivering on multiple priorities and will hold the following qualifications:
- Must possess a valid Class 5 driver's license (non-GDL), with a minimum of one (1) year driving experience required.
- Two (2) years forklift operating experience and/or related equipment experience preferred.
- Aptitude to perform heavy lifting and manual labour.
- Exceptional customer service, communication and time management skills.
- WHMIS Certification.
- Must have CSA approved steel/composite-toe work boots.
Physical Demands
- Frequent lifting upwards of 50 lbs.
- Pushing, pulling, crouching, bending, and reaching frequently.
- Exposure to dust, fumes, gas, odors, animal dander, bedding waste and variability of seasonal climate.
- Physical and visual acuity is required.
