Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Owner Operator Driver to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for transporting freight safely and efficiently while maintaining high standards of service. A key aspect of this position involves delivering home appliances and performing basic installation services at residential locations. As an Owner Operator, you will manage your own vehicle and have the flexibility to choose your routes and schedules, ensuring timely deliveries while adhering to all safety regulations.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain your own commercial vehicle for the transportation of freight and home appliances.
- Ensure timely delivery of goods, including large household appliances (e.g., refrigerators, washers, dryers), to residential and commercial customers.
- Unload, uncrate, and move appliances into customers’ homes, taking care to protect property and avoid damage.
- Perform basic appliance installation, such as attaching water lines to washers, leveling units, and testing for functionality.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage, fuel consumption, installation tasks, and maintenance logs.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery status, customer concerns, and any issues that may arise.
- Uphold professional customer service standards in clients’ homes, including cleanliness, courtesy, and problem-solving.
Requirements
- Proven experience in freight transportation as an Owner Operator or similar role.
- Experience with residential appliance delivery and basic installation is required (e.g., connecting hoses, leveling units, plug-and-play electrical work).
- Ability to handle and maneuver large or bulky appliances using dollies, straps, and other moving equipment.
- Strong knowledge of commercial driving regulations and safety protocols.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with clients, dispatchers, and other team members.
- Must be self-motivated and able to work independently while managing time efficiently.
- B*asic tools and equipment for appliance handling and installation are required.*
