Duties and Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Director, the Outreach Coordinator is responsible for identifying and developing alternative revenue streams for the centre, cultivating relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, and initiating new outreach and community engagement initiatives.

This role plays a key part in coordinating volunteer and student programming and provides support in financial and administrative reconciliations.

The Outreach Coordinator will work proactively and collaboratively with the Director, CDCC team members, funders (current and prospective), volunteers, students, clients, community stakeholders, and university partners to build and sustain meaningful partnerships.

Qualifications:

The incumbent must possess the following qualifications:
  • Demonstrated excellence in customer service and interpersonal communication, with the ability to build trust and engage diplomatically with clients, donors, stakeholders, and guests in both event and educational settings.
  • Proven grant and business writing skills, with direct experience collaborating with funders and supporting funding proposals and reporting.
  • Experience in working in a dynamic event environment, balancing front-of-house operations and event logistics with administrative responsibilities.
  • Solid understanding of general business practices, office administration, and organizational procedures.
  • Experience in financial reconciliation and scheduling administration.
  • Adaptable and able to adjust workflows and recommend processes to meet changing organizational needs and priorities.
  • Able to work independently, while maintaining focus amid frequent interruptions and event-related demands.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and adept at conducting effective online research.
  • Familiarity with financial bookkeeping software is considered an asset.

Education and Experience:

The above is normally acquired through the completion of:
  • Three-year university degree or college program in non-profit fundraising and/or non-profit administration preferred
  • Five years or more of related experience working in non-profit fundraising/development, non-profit administration, and/or events management required.

HR Note:

Equivalencies will be considered. Applicants are encouraged to provide information which may demonstrate equivalent qualifications. Please note that applicants may be required to complete an employment test as part of the selection process for this position. Those applicants that are selected for an interview will be requested to contact the Human Resource Advisor assigned to this competition as soon as possible to discuss any accommodation requirements. Arrangements will be made to accommodate your request in a timely manner.
