Optometric Assistant/Receptionist

Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Optometric Assistant to join our team. As an Optometric Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and assisting with various administrative and clinical tasks. Responsibilities:
- Greet and check-in patients, ensuring a warm and welcoming atmosphere
- Collect patient information, update medical records, and verify insurance coverage
- Schedule appointments and manage the appointment calendar
- Assist with preliminary vision testing, including visual acuity and color vision tests
- Prepare examination rooms for patient visits, ensuring cleanliness and organization
- Assist the optometrist during eye examinations, including taking patient history and recording measurements
- Educate patients on contact lens insertion, removal, and care
- Process sales transactions for eye exams, eyewear and contact lenses

Experience:
- Previous experience working in a medical office or optometry setting preferred
- Familiarity with medical terminology and electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Optosys
- Experience working at the front desk or in retail sales is beneficial
- Strong communication skills with the ability to provide exceptional customer service
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills

Pay: $17.00-$19.00 per hour
