Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and organized Receptionist/Administrative Assistant to join our dynamic team. This role is essential in providing exceptional customer service and administrative support within our office environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills in both English and French, a keen attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Experience in an Optometry office setting is preferred but not required.
Your Role
As our Receptionist, you'll be the first point of contact for our patients and play a crucial role in creating positive experiences:
- Patient Welcome: Greet patients warmly and professionally, ensuring they feel comfortable from the moment they arrive
- Patient Registration: Complete new patient intake, update existing records, and collect necessary documentation
- Appointment Management: Schedule, confirm, and manage appointments efficiently using our practice management software
- Phone Communications: Handle incoming calls with professionalism, answer inquiries, and direct calls appropriately
- Insurance Processing: Verify insurance benefits, process claims, and explain coverage to patients
- Administrative Support: Maintain filing systems, manage patient charts, and support overall office organization
- Pre-screening Support: Operate basic pre-screening equipment to assist with preliminary patient assessments
- Frame Styling Assistance: Help patients select frames that suit their face shape, lifestyle, and personal preferences
- Payment Processing: Handle transactions, co-pays, and payment plans with accuracy and discretion
- Multi-tasking: Balance front desk duties while supporting doctors and optician as needed

- Bilingual fluency in English and French to serve our diverse patient base
- Previous experience in healthcare, optometry, or medical office settings preferred
- Prior receptionist or administrative experience in professional service environments preferred
