On Call Lowbed Driver (Class 1)
Located in the North Thompson valley, at Simpcw Resources Group we provide environmental, management, and operational services while preserving Simpcw culture and heritage with respect towards the environment. Current Opportunities:
Simpcw Resources LLP is growing rapidly and looking for a dependable and enthusiastic On Call Lowbed Driver (Class 1) to join our team. Reporting to the Heavy Equipment Operations Manager, the Lowbed driver will safely haul flatbed trailers, construction, and logging equipment as required on an on-call basis. No guarantee of hours.
Responsibilities:
- Safely haul flatbed trailers, construction, and logging equipment as required.
- Load and unload equipment.
- Ability to safely operate lowbed trailer in mountainous terrain.
- Ability to follow site rules and regulations.
- Ensure loads are secure by utilizing chains, straps, as required.
- Perform general maintenance and upkeep of the vehicle as required, including daily preventative maintenance inspections and safety checks.
- Maintaining e-log books, and time sheets in an accurate and timely manner.
- Ability to work with other team members in a professional manner at all times.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 year operating a lowbed truck, loading/unloading, and transporting heavy equipment with multi axle.
- Must have valid Class 1 driver's license with Air brake endorsement - candidate to provide a clean 5-year commercial drivers abstract, including no distracted driving infractions.
- Willingness to work extended hours including weekends.
- Knowledge of Canadian Federal Hours of Service.
- Mechanically inclined (considered an asset).
- Experience working with First Nations people is valued.
- Knowledge of the Simpcw First Nations community is valued.
