Clinic: Catch a Balloon Pediatric Therapy Clinic
Position: Part-Time
At Catch a Balloon, we are dedicated to helping children thrive not just physically, but cognitively. We are currently seeking a passionate Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) with a strong focus on cognitive development, attention, and executive functioning to join our interdisciplinary team.
This role is ideal for someone who is deeply interested in the thinking brain—how children plan, focus, remember, self-regulate, and organize their world. Our ideal candidate is motivated by the opportunity to support children with cognitive challenges that affect learning, behavior, and independence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver interventions that target core cognitive skills: attention control, working memory, mental flexibility, initiation, inhibition, and problem-solving
- Support children in building executive functioning strategies that improve school performance, emotional regulation, and daily functioning
- Collaborate with supervising occupational therapists to implement cognition-centered treatment plans
- Use structured activities, games, and tools to strengthen task planning, organization, and sustained focus
- Track cognitive progress, adjust interventions as needed, and document sessions accurately
- Provide families with education and strategies to support their child’s cognitive development at home
Our Ideal Candidate:
- Graduate of an accredited OTA program
- Registered and in good standing with a relevant regulatory body
- Strong knowledge of and/or interest in cognitive rehabilitation, executive functions, and metacognitive approaches
- Experience or comfort working with children with Autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, or executive functioning difficulties
- A reflective, patient, and playful approach to therapy
- Excellent communication skills and ability to translate complex cognitive concepts into practical interventions
Why Work at Catch a Balloon?
- A clinic culture that values the cognitive side of occupational therapy as much as the physical
- Opportunities to develop skills in cognitive intervention and executive function training
- A creative, supportive environment where professional growth is encouraged
- Flexible, part-time schedule within a team that values balance and collaboration
If you’re an OTA who is passionate about the science of thinking, learning, and attention, and you’re excited to make a difference in how children experience the world, we’d love to hear from you.
