Job Title: Nanny / Personal Assistant (Hybrid Live-In/Live-Out)

Compensation: Hourly to Start, Transitioning to Salary

About the Role:
We are seeking a nurturing, dependable, and organized Nanny / Personal Assistant to help manage a busy household with two children (ages 16 & 9), three small pets (2 dogs, 1 cat), and a variety of day-to-day responsibilities. This hybrid live-in/live-out role offers a high level of trust and flexibility. You will live in when needed (such as when the parent is away) and have reduced duties or time off when the parent is home.
This is an excellent fit for someone who is proactive, loves working with children and animals, and is skilled in household coordination.
Key Responsibilities:
- Childcare for 2 children (ages 16 & 9) including activities, play dates, and driving to/from events
- Pet care for 2 small dogs and 1 cat
- Daily cooking and meal prep
- Laundry and light housekeeping (cleaners come weekly)
- Grocery shopping and/or managing grocery delivery
- Collaborate with the parent to ensure smooth household operations
- Coordinate schedules and appointments
- Overnight stays when parent is away
- General errands and household tasks
- Liaise with yard maintenance and household service providers
Schedule & Work Environment:
- Full-time, on-call flexibility
- Most weekends off
- Live-in only when the parent is away; otherwise reduced duties or time off
- Vehicle provided for errands and child transportation
- Weekly household and activity budget provided
- Your own private bedroom and bathroom when staying over
Requirements:
- Must have a valid Alberta driver’s license and at least 3 years of driving experience
- Clean criminal record check
- Basic first aid training
- Minimum of 2 personal references and 2 employer references
- Strong organizational skills and proactive mindset
- Comfortable with pets and children of all ages
- Reliable and flexible availability
Bonus Qualifications (not required but appreciated):
- Second language (especially Ukrainian or Spanish)
- Musical training
- Experience with teenagers and school-aged children
- Experience managing a household or working as a personal assistant
