Role Overview:
As a MuleSoft Integration Specialist, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining integrations across healthcare applications, such as Electronic Health Records (EHRs), Salesforce Health Cloud, patient portals, and third-party clinical systems. You will work closely with architects, business analysts, and clinical stakeholders to ensure data flows securely and complies with Canadian federal and provincial healthcare data privacy regulations (PIPEDA, PHIPA, etc.).
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and deploy APIs and integrations using MuleSoft Anypoint Studio and Anypoint Platform.
- Build reusable APIs, connectors, and templates to support interoperability across healthcare systems.
- Implement real-time and batch integrations between EHRs, CRMs, patient apps, and analytics tools.
- Ensure all integrations comply with healthcare standards including HL7, FHIR, CDA, and secure messaging protocols.
- Collaborate with solution architects and integration teams to design scalable API-led connectivity frameworks.
- Implement secure data handling practices in compliance with PHIPA, PIPEDA, and other Canadian federal and provincial healthcare data privacy regulations (PIPEDA, PHIPA, etc.).
- Troubleshoot integration issues, perform root cause analysis, and provide production support.
- Maintain system documentation, including API specifications and technical design documents.
- Monitor MuleSoft releases and recommend adoption of new capabilities.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of hands-on MuleSoft development experience.
- Strong proficiency in MuleSoft Anypoint Studio, Anypoint Platform, API Designer, Exchange, and Runtime Manager.
- Solid understanding of API-led connectivity, microservices architecture, JSON, XML, REST, SOAP, and messaging queues.
- Experience integrating with healthcare systems (EHRs, CRMs, patient portals) and working with HL7/FHIR interoperability standards.
- Strong knowledge of security practices (OAuth, JWT, TLS, encryption).
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tools (Salesforce DevOps, Gearset, Jenkins, GitHub, Azure DevOps, etc.).
- MuleSoft Certified Developer I and Developer II or higher certification(s).
- Familiarity with Canadian healthcare compliance requirements (PHIPA, PIPEDA).
Nice to Have:
- Experience with Salesforce Health Cloud integrations.
- Previous experience working directly in the Canadian healthcare sector.
