Position Details:

• Overview: Do you enjoy caring for patients in a surgical setting in order to eradicate their skin cancer? Join our Mohs Surgery team as a Surgical Medical Assistant/Histotechnician!
• Job Title: Histotechnician/Certified Medical Assistant (Mohs team)
• Location: Vancouver primary location, travel is required to Longview, Gresham, Olympia (travel reimbursement policy provided)
• Typical Schedule: Tuesdays - Fridays, 7:30am - 5:00pm
• Wage Range: $24.00 - $31.00 hourly (Pay is dependent upon a combination of multiple factors including but not limited to work experience, transferable skills, business needs, and geographic market availability)

Qualifications:

• Must be Certified as a Medical Assistant through the WA State Department of Health
• Experience as a Mohs Histotech with frozen sectioning strongly preferred. Training on this skillset may be considered.
• HS Diploma, GED; and 1-3 months related healthcare experience or trade school equivalent. Experience in a surgical setting is strongly preferred.
• Our surgical medical assistants must be comfortable in a fast paced environment; some duties include rooming and caring for patients for the duration of their surgery, assisting the Mohs Surgeon, patient education, and daily patient tasks
• Some Mohs technician duties include preparing skin tissue specimens for microscopic examination in the lab, processing and embedding samples, preparing reagents, solutions, control slides, special stains, and other duties as assigned
• Our medical assistants must have exceptional customer service skills, be highly organized, and very detail oriented. See our mission below!
