Mobile Fleet Attendant
Overview
We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Mobile Fleet Attendant to join our maintenance support team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing post-installation tire re-torque services on trailers, ensuring wheel fasteners are properly tightened to manufacturer specifications. The role requires travel to various customer and company sites and working in outdoor environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform tire re-torque procedures on trailers after initial tire installation or repair, in compliance with safety standards and manufacturer guidelines.
- Use calibrated torque wrenches and related tools to achieve precise torque specifications.
- Inspect wheel assemblies for visible defects, improper installation, or safety concerns.
- Document all service work performed, including torque values, date, time, and trailer/unit numbers.
- Communicate with dispatch, shop supervisors, and drivers to coordinate service.
- Maintain company tools, vehicle, and safety equipment in proper working order.
- Follow all safety protocols, including proper PPE use and traffic control measures.
- Support other basic trailer safety inspections and fleet operations as required.
Qualifications & Skills
- Previous experience in commercial vehicle maintenance, tire service, or related mechanical work preferred.
- Understanding of torque procedures, wheel installation, and commercial trailer safety standards.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; Class G minimum (DZ or AZ license preferred).
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and adapt to changing schedules.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Comfortable using mobile devices, digital work orders, and basic fleet software to document work, receive assignments and locate equipment.
Work Schedule & Conditions
- Primarily mobile service work at customer yards, roadside, and company facilities.
- Flexible schedule; evening, weekend, may be required.
- Company vehicle, tools, and PPE provided.
