Media and Discipleship Support Position
Position Summary: The Media & Discipleship Support Role is a unique, mission-driven position that combines creative storytelling through digital media with volunteer coordination and mentorship. This individual is responsible for capturing the what of the camp experiences through photo, video, and social media content, while also supporting and discipling Impact Crew Volunteers throughout the summer season. This position requires a blend of technical media skills, strong communication abilities and a passion for ministry and service.
Key Responsibilities
Media Production & Communications:
- Capture high-quality photos and videos of daily activities, special events and camper and volunteer stories.
- Edit and compile weekly highlight videos and photo galleries for social media and internal use.
- Manage and post engaging, mission-aligned content across Camp Chestermere’s social media platforms (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, Tiktok).
- Collaborate with the Camp Coordinator to implement a content strategy that reflects the camp’s Christian ministry and community.
- Organize and maintain a well-structured digital media archive for easy access and sharing.
- Participate in camp events, staff devotionals, firesides, and evening activities to build relationships and capture authentic moments.
Volunteer Support & Coordination
- Assist in preparing for summer Impact Crew volunteers.
- Provide daily support, mentorship, and spiritual guidance to Impact Crew volunteers.
- Monitor volunteer performance, provide constructive feedback, and ensure task completion in collaboration with the Site and Maintenance Coordinators.
- Maintain all necessary volunteer paperwork, including waivers, background checks, and availability forms.
- Foster a welcoming, inclusive, and Christ-centered community among volunteers.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- High school diploma required; post-secondary education in media production, communications, ministry, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience in video production, photography, and social media content creation.
- Previous experience in volunteer coordination or leadership in a camp/ministry context is an asset.
Skills & Abilities
- Proficient with media editing software (Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, Lightroom, etc.).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for both media management and volunteer logistics.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, community-driven environment.
- Familiarity with volunteer scheduling tools (e.g., CampBrain) is a plus.

Certifications & Other Requirements:
- First Aid and CPR certification (or the ability to obtain prior to the start of camp).
- Background check clearance (required).
- Valid driver’s license (if driving is required for certain activities or trips).
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as necessary during the camp season.
Working Conditions:
- This position requires overnight shifts and a flexible schedule to accommodate the camp’s operational hours.
- Work is primarily outdoors in various weather conditions, with some indoor responsibilities.
- Some physical labor is required, including helping to maintain camp facilities and supporting cabin cleanup routines.
