We are currently looking to hire a Mechanical Estimator to help bid our Mechanical Projects.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Mechanical Estimator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for mechanical systems including plumbing and piping for commercial, municipal and industrial construction projects.
Key Responsibilities:
· Analyze project plans, specifications, and related documents to prepare mechanical estimates.
· Perform material and quantity take-offs
· Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor quotes.
· Prepare detailed scope sheets and cost breakdowns.
· Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits as required.
· Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders.
· Build and help maintain budgets
Skills:
· Experience with plumbing and heating systems in commercial buildings and municipal systems
· 3+ years of experience in mechanical estimating (HVAC, plumbing, piping preferred)
· Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.
· Proficient in Microsoft word, excel, project, bluebeam
· Works well in a team environment
· Time management skills
· Excellent analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills.
· Ability to organize priorities based on deadline
· Ability to come up with systems to streamline processes
· Problem solver
Education:
· Plumbing Redseal, B Gas
· Direct work experience in a estimating capacity
· Certificate, university degree, gold seal, red seal or college diploma in engineering or project management is an asset
