We are looking for: Materials Testing Field Technician
Do you enjoy hands-on, outdoor work where you can see the impact of your efforts? Are you passionate about quality and ensuring things are done right? As a Materials Testing Field Technician at Advance Testing, you’ll be playing a key role in keeping construction projects on track and up to standard.
What You’ll Be Doing:
· Testing Concrete: Conduct slump, air, and temperature tests, and prep compressive-strength cylinders and cubes.
· Testing Asphalt: Sample and test asphalt, perform compaction testing with a nuclear densometer, and document results precisely.
· Testing Soils: Sample soil and aggregate, perform compaction tests, and ensure everything meets project requirements.
· Quality Assurance: Make sure soils and aggregates meet the specifications laid out in each project.
· Plan Review: Analyze plans to verify correct test locations and elevations.
· Communication: Keep clients updated on results, addressing any issues and suggesting corrective actions when needed.
· Scheduling: Coordinate with dispatch and clients to keep everything on schedule.
· Report Submission: Complete and submit reports on time.
· Equipment Care: Regularly calibrate testing equipment and maintain it in top condition.
· Property Maintenance: Take care of company property and keep it in excellent shape.
What We’re Looking For:
· Class 5 driver’s license and a willingness to travel to job sites when needed
· Experience in materials testing or a related field
· Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills and a knack for problem-solving
· Good communication skills (both written and verbal)
· Reliable and self-motivated—able to work independently and as part of a team
· Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs
· Basic math skills and the ability to read civil drawings and plans
