Job Overview
WMK METAL RECYCLING LTD. is seeking a reliable and motivated Material Handler to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and safe movement of materials within our facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Load, unload, and move products and materials by hand or using basic material handling equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness of inventory, loading areas, and machinery.
- Adhere to workplace safety regulations and demonstrate a strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental requirements for material handling.
- Keep accurate records and perform calculations with strong numeracy skills.
- Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to understand and respond to material requests.
- Manage multiple tasks and prioritize workloads to meet deadlines.
- Identify and implement process improvements for workplace efficiency.
- Operate cranes and other equipment safely and efficiently during work hours.
- Handle multiple complex tasks with professionalism and efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in material handling is preferred but not required.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment.
- Ability to lift 60-70 pounds.
- Proficiency in operating basic material handling equipment and cranes is an asset.
