This role will oversee the installation and commissioning of an army of CNC machines, establish quality control, assembly, and packaging processes, and manage a shift-based production team operating 24/7. The ideal candidate has a proven track record in both greenfield manufacturing setup and high-volume production management, with the leadership skills to build a top-performing team from the ground up.

- Oversee delivery, installation, and commissioning of CNC machines and related equipment.
- Develop and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) for CNC operation, quality control, assembly, and packaging.
- Establish shift structures, staffing plans, and training programs.
- Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely arrival of materials, tooling, and consumables before launch.
2. CNC Operations Management
- Lead multi-shift CNC operations, ensuring optimal machine uptime and throughput.
- Lead on setup schedules, maintenance planning, and process improvements.
- Monitor production KPIs, cycle times, and scrap rates to hit ramp-up targets.
3. Shift Leadership & Workforce Management
- Recruit, train, and manage CNC operators, assemblers, and packers across multiple shifts.
- Implement effective shift handover processes to ensure continuity and communication.
- Monitor performance and address staffing or workflow issues quickly.
4. Quality Control
- Establish robust QC protocols from day one to meet dimensional and functional requirements.
- Integrate inspection processes into the production flow to minimize defects.
- Lead root cause investigations and corrective actions for any quality issues during ramp-up and steady state.
5. Assembly & Packaging Oversight
- Design and optimize assembly and packaging stations for efficiency and ergonomics.
- Ensure packaging meets durability, brand, and shipping standards.
- Coordinate parts flow to prevent bottlenecks between CNC, assembly, and packaging.
6. Process & Efficiency Improvements
- Use lean manufacturing principles to optimize workflow from launch through ongoing production.
- Continuously analyze output to identify opportunities for productivity and quality gains.
7. Safety & Compliance
- Ensure workplace safety policies are built into the production setup.
- Train teams on safety procedures before equipment operation begins.
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years of production management experience, including at least one facility launch or major production ramp-up.
- Strong knowledge of CNC machining operations, including setup and commissioning.
- Experience managing shift-based manufacturing teams in high-volume environments.
- Proficiency with quality control processes and tools.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems for scheduling, inventory, and reporting.
Bonus Points For
- Lean manufacturing / Six Sigma certification.
- Multi-axis CNC programming knowledge.
- Experience in consumer product manufacturing or hardware startups.
