This role sits within Laurentian Bank
- Review credit applications and all related documents/systems and ensure standardization of credit applications.
- Submit credit applications to the credit sector according to its delegations for approval and follow up on the file
- Ensure the proper development of operations in his sector and be responsible for prioritizing the assignment of files and tasks to members of his team
- Manage the employees under his responsibility in accordance with the legislation in force, with the policies, programs, procedures, evaluate their performance and ensure the development of their potential, be responsible for the decisions of recruitment / dismissal and the salary management of the employees
- Ensure good communication between the various stakeholders involved in the processes under management
- Participate in monthly meetings with the credit sector and identify irregular, late and at-risk accounts within its portfolio. Communicate the information to the directors, business development and determine a strategy and the measures to be taken to remedy the situation and manage the risk appropriately
- Train, assist and supervise portfolio managers and trainees in the course of their duties
- Identify and optimize business development and cross-selling opportunities
- Participate in and lead various improvement projects that may have an impact on the efficiency of existing processes
- University education in an appropriate field and 3 to 5 years of experience
- CPA or CFA designation an asset
- Ability in financial analysis and sharp critical thinking
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and ability to provide feedback and coaching
- Good management of priorities
- Ability to communicate with senior leaders
- Good knowledge of how commercial financing works
- Rigor and ability to organize work efficiently
- Have a sense of responsibility
- Ability to manage stress and tight deadlines
- Good knowledge of software: Windows, Outlook, Word, Excel and Power point
- Bilingualism*: French and English
- Professional working proficiency in French and English languages required as position involves frequent written and oral communication on complex matters with internal and external parties in both languages
