Our Community Services division is critical in supporting the health and safety of the workforce and clients in both rural and remote settings. As our Manager of Community Services, you’ll lead frontline teams who are transforming community health care across the country.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

This is a dynamic leadership position that combines operational oversight, strategic program planning, and strong stakeholder collaboration. You will guide our field teams through clinical excellence, foster a culture of trust and growth, and work alongside clients and internal teams to strengthen health outcomes across the communities we serve.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Program & Client Operations

  • Oversee daily operations of Community Paramedicine programs, stepping in to provide direct support when needed.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to manage service delivery contracts and ensure client expectations are met or exceeded.
  • Monitor and manage program logistics, including staffing levels, equipment needs, and resource allocation.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for clients and partners, maintaining consistent and professional communication.

People Leadership & Staff Development

  • Provide mentorship and leadership to frontline paramedics, fostering a culture of excellence, safety, and compassion.
  • Lead recruitment, onboarding, scheduling, training, and performance management in collaboration with the HR team.
  • Ensure consistent application of AMS and client protocols, policies, and operational procedures.
  • Approve staff scheduling, leave requests, payroll submissions, and expense claims.

Culture & Communication

  • Promote a respectful, inclusive, and team-oriented work environment.
  • Facilitate open dialogue, effective conflict resolution, and continuous feedback loops.
  • Model and reinforce AMS’s mission, vision, and values in all communications and decision-making.

Performance Management & Quality Assurance

  • Monitor team performance, patient outcomes, and client satisfaction.
  • Participate in incident reviews and implement corrective action as needed.
  • Track and report program metrics, supporting strategic planning and service innovation.

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

You are a confident, compassionate leader with a deep clinical background and a passion for delivering health services in rural and remote settings. You bring a strategic mindset, strong organizational skills, and the ability to lead diverse teams in high-impact environments.

Required Qualifications

  • Licensed Canadian Paramedic or Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Minimum 3 years of frontline clinical experience
  • Minimum 4 years of leadership, supervisory, or management experience
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills
  • Proven ability to manage staff scheduling, training, and performance
  • Discretion and professionalism in handling confidential matters
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office 365
  • Willingness to travel to remote sites as required

Preferred Assets

  • Experience working in industrial and/or community health environments
  • Prior leadership experience in remote healthcare delivery models
  • Project Management certification (PMP or equivalent)
