Our Fleet Repair & Maintenance business unit works to provide full-service repair and maintenance for our fleet of trucks and trailing equipment, including a van body repair and fabrication shop. Our FRM leadership team works together to coach and guide our talented team of heavy duty and trailer mechanics, welders, van body technicians, support staff, parts and wash bay employees so as to provide a safe, educational, and productive workplace.
We are seeking a forward-thinking Manager, Fleet, Repair & Maintenance, who has previous experience leading a fleet repair and maintenance team and who has technical knowledge in one or more areas including van body, fabrication, tractor and/or trailing equipment repair and maintenance for our Winnipeg site. Directly reporting to the Manager are the FRM Support Staff and 3 Supervisors of Specialty Shop, Tractor/Trailer Shop and Parts and Building Maintenance, and 30 hourly tradespersons. The Manager works with department supervisors who are responsible for planning and overseeing their respective teams for the repair and maintenance of:

Service and repair of our 800 tractor & trailing equipment as well as off-road equipment, and 450 intermodal containers, which would include the following maintenance functions:
- Body repair & maintenance,
- Fabrication and welding repairs of trailing equipment including pneumatic tanks, side dumps and end dumps, and other specialty equipment,
- Welding procedures to CWB Certification standards, and
- Sandblasting & Painting facilities
- Parts inventory and warranty
The ideal candidate possesses the attributes to:
- Collaborate with the various business units in the cost and time efficient maintenance and repair of equipment,
- Proven people skills to develop, foster and manage a diverse team of technicians, welders, and support staff,
- Strong commitment to Safety,
- Remain current on industry trends and best practices,
- Technical knowledge in one or more areas within repair & maintenance,
- Ability to work with other FRM leaders to optimize our shop performance and service,
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, in working with various stakeholders,
- Excellent time management and organizational skills in handling volume of work, changing demands and various sources of information at a leadership level,
- Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ability to learn various trucking systems and software (i.e., TMT, Truckmate, Isaac, etc.).
