SCOPE
Reporting to the Principal Director, Annual Giving, and provides direct supervision of the Advancement Engagement Centre’s student workforce, which includes Student Ambassadors, Shift Supervisors, and Digital Engagement Officers, the incumbent develops and implements strategies to maximize the success of the Advancement Engagement Centre’s fundraising and engagement activities and is responsible for fostering positive relationships with Concordia alumni, donors and friends.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Oversee human resources for the Advancement Engagement Centre, including ongoing recruitment, training and performance management of staff – including Student Ambassadors, Shift Lead, and Digital Engagement Officers.
• Manage the Advancement Engagement Centre budgetary resources to ensure successful core operations, with the ability to accommodate ad-hoc fundraising and engagement activities, as needed.
• Analyze industry trends and best practices to develop strategies to maximize fundraising results and explore new tools/ technologies to facilitate outreach efforts; Maintain and expand industry knowledge through ongoing professional development and information sharing with counterparts at peer institutions.
• Develop reporting methods to evaluate and enhance the efficacy of Advancement Engagement Centre programs and implement new and/ or improved processes as required.
• Oversee the configuration and utilization of software applications and digital tools required by the Advancement Engagement Centre; Liaise with internal partners and external vendors/ service providers to ensure that the IT needs of the Advancement Engagement Centre are met.
• Partner with Advancement Services units to make data-driven decisions regarding prioritization and segmentation of Advancement Engagement Centre solicitation efforts, ensure donations received through the Centre’s programs are processed in a timely fashion, and contribute to the integrity of University Advancement alumni and donor database with contact information/ demographic updates obtained during the Centre’s outreach.
• Develop and maintain communications materials for the Advancement Engagement Centre, including reference materials for staff (phone, scripts, fact sheets re. institutional fundraising priorities), donor-facing solicitation materials (donation confirmations, pledge reminders), and HR-related resources (job postings/ advertisements, training materials).
• Analyze Advancement Engagement Centre performance against expectations and make recommendations to continue, alter or cease initiatives.
• Lead fundraising efforts for the Graduating Class Gift Fund, an initiative intended to promote and encourage philanthropy among graduating students at Concordia.
• Assist in the coordination of other Annual Giving programs and activities, as required.

QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree and two to four years of relevant work experience in telemarketing with at least 2 years of supervisory experience.
• Knowledge of voluntary/ non-profit sectors.
• Demonstrated leadership skills.
• Good knowledge (Level 4) of spoken and written English and French.
• Ability to work in a PC environment; good knowledge (Intermediate level) of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint to facilitate the manipulation of data and preparation of Annual Giving materials; comfortable learning and adapting to new software applications.
• Capable of dealing with confidential information and exhibiting discretion; tactful and sensitive to diverse cultures and constituents.
• Excellent organizational and prioritizing skills; ability to handle large volumes of work during peak periods and to work under minimal supervision.
• Basic knowledge of budget and financial reporting procedures.
• Familiarity with software applications used by the Advancement Engagement Centre and University Advancement (ex. Blackbaud CRM, VanillaSoft, etc.) is an asset.
  • Previous experience working in a university setting is an asset.
