About the role

We’re looking for a Manager, Accounts Receivable to join our growing team.


As Manager, Accounts Receivable, your work will have a significant impact on our organization by efficiently and effectively leading Direct Bill back office operations, including payment processing and collections. You will lead a team of four unit managers to improving our processes, strengthen use of data analytics, and support transformative projects. This position will report to the National Director, Accounts Receivable.

What you’ll do here:

  • Responsible for leading back office operations related to Direct Bill policies for Intact Insurance nationally
  • Lead, coach, and develop unit managers to deliver successful results for their respective mandates
  • Foster a strong culture of optimism, positivity, and commitment to operational excellence across department
  • Develop and utilize key performance indicators to monitor results, drive efficiency, and manage performance
  • Drive the use of data analytics to identify opportunities for improvement, and enhance key business processes
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure streamlined workflows and productive escalation activities
  • Respond to operational issues and ensure quality service to brokers and customers
  • Mandate may include leading A/R related projects liaising with various business stakeholders
  • Mandate may include leading process optimization projects across A/R


What you bring to the table:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business Administration or Finance or equivalent work experience
  • Professional Accounting Designation, CGA, CMA or CA considered an asset
  • 7+ years of experience working in a senior role in Finance or Accounting
  • 4+ years of people management experience
  • Sound knowledge of insurance principles / practices and billing operations
  • Ability to set clear objectives and monitor progress of multiple projects against deadlines
  • Demonstration of Intact’s Leadership Success Factors including the ability to mentor staff and drive strong engagement results
  • Robust critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Detail-oriented is a must have
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to foster favourable business relationships and resolve conflicts
  • Positive attitude while adapting to changing priorities and taking ownership of team’s work
  • No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada
  • Bilingualism is required considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English-speaking colleagues across the country
