We Host Inc. is a fast-growing property management company specializing in short-term vacation rentals across Newfoundland and Alberta. We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional guest experiences and maintaining beautiful, functional homes for our property owners.
We’re currently hiring a Maintenance Technician based in St. John’s to care for our portfolio of vacation rental properties. This hands-on role is ideal for someone who’s responsive, detail-oriented, and experienced in both routine maintenance and seasonal property care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond promptly to maintenance issues reported by the guest relations team.
- Perform day-to-day repairs:
- Plumbing (e.g., clogged drains, leaking faucets)
- Electrical (e.g., outlets, switches, light fixtures)
- Smart home tech (e.g., smart locks, routers)
- Doors, windows, locks, paint, drywall, and cosmetic touch-ups
- Conduct property checks and preventative maintenance.
- Document issues or completed tasks in digital reports as needed.
- Track recurring problems and recommend long-term fixes.
Seasonal Responsibilities:
- Lawn care and yard maintenance: mowing, weed trimming, light landscaping
- Snow removal: light snow shovelling, salting, and assisting with snow contractor coordination (especially for driveways and walkways)
- Support for outdoor property setups: patio furniture, BBQs, and hot tubs when applicable
Requirements:
- Hands-on experience in property maintenance or trades
- Tech-savvy enough to use mobile apps and smart locks
- Reliable vehicle and valid driver’s license
- Ability to work independently and communicate professionally
- Willingness to be on-call for emergency maintenance as needed
Nice to Have:
- Experience with smart home technology or short-term rental properties
- Carpentry, electrical, plumbing, or HVAC skills
- Small equipment like snow blower or lawn mower (or willingness to use company-provided tools)
