Machine Operation
We are seeking a skilled Machine Installer and Operator to install, operate, and maintain our needlepunch machinery. This role requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and a strong focus on safety and cleanliness. You will collaborate closely with the Production Manager and engineering team to ensure seamless machine setup, optimal performance, and a safe, organized warehouse environment.
Key Responsibilities
Machine Installation & Setup
- Install and configure needlepunch machines in alignment with engineering diagrams and manufacturer guidelines.
- Collaborate with engineers and managers to troubleshoot installation challenges.
- Conduct post-installation tests to verify machine functionality.
- Operate needlepunch nonwoven machinery efficiently to meet production targets and quality standards.
- Monitor machine performance, adjusting settings (e.g., speed, needle penetration) as needed.
- Perform regular quality checks on output materials.
Maintenance & Repairs
- Conduct routine maintenance (lubrication, part replacements) to minimize downtime.
- Diagnose mechanical/electrical issues and coordinate repairs with the engineering team.
- Maintain logs of maintenance activities and machine performance.
Safety & Compliance
- Enforce safety protocols (e.g., PPE use, lockout/tagout procedures) to protect workers.
- Report hazards and participate in safety audits or meetings.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.
Warehouse Cleanliness & Organization
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of debris.
- Properly store tools, materials, and spare parts.
- Dispose of waste according to environmental/safety guidelines.
Team Collaboration
- Communicate with managers and engineers to align on priorities and resolve issues.
- Assist in training new operators on machine use and safety practices.
- Document installation, operation, and maintenance activities.
Qualifications
- Experience: 2+ years operating/maintaining industrial machinery (needlepunch machines preferred).
- Technical Skills: Ability to read diagrams, use hand/power tools, and troubleshoot.
- Safety Focus: Knowledge of OHSA standards and PPE requirements.
- Physical Stamina: Lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and work in a noisy environment.
- Detail-Oriented: Strong focus on precision and quality control.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications a plus.
Work Environment
- Warehouse/manufacturing setting with exposure to machinery noise and fibers.
- Safety gear (ear protection, masks, gloves) provided.
