Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable LBM Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for customer service and a strong understanding of lumber products. This role involves assisting customers with their lumber needs, providing product demonstrations, and ensuring an organized and efficient retail environment. As a LBM Associate, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the customer experience through effective communication and sales techniques.
Responsibilities
- Assist customers in selecting the right lumber products for their projects.
- Provide product knowledge to educate customers on features and benefits.
- Maintain an organized sales floor, ensuring that all products are displayed effectively.
- Handle cash transactions accurately using POS systems.
- Engage in retail sales activities, including upselling and cross-selling related products.
- Manage inventory levels and assist with restocking as needed.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve store sales goals.
Skills
- Strong organizational skills to maintain an orderly workspace and inventory.
- Excellent time management abilities to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Proficiency in cash handling procedures and experience with POS systems.
- Background in retail sales, with the ability to engage customers effectively.
- Assist customers with finding all items needed to complete their project.
- Process special orders for non-stock or out of stock items.
- Experience with product demos and technical sales is a plus.
- Ability to upsell products based on customer needs and preferences.
- Record repeat customer requests for product and follow-up when product arrives at the store.
- Advise the designated manager of shortages, damaged goods, back-orders etc.
- Change prices on merchandise, bins, displays, etc. as necessary.
- Check incoming merchandise against invoices to spot shortages, damaged goods, back-orders, etc.
- Keep stock in storage area neat, clean, and orderly.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings and holidays.
- Friendly and helpful attitude toward customers.
- Excellent communication skills.
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- Willingness to learn.
- Good mathematical skills.
- Prior retail experience beneficial.
- Willingness to continually develop professional skills and knowledge base.
- Ability to work co-operatively in a team atmosphere.

Monday-Friday: 7:00am-6:00pm
Saturday: 8:00am-5:00pm
Sunday: 10:00am-4pm
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.20-$20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
