Position Summary
The Logistics Coordinator (Dispatcher) is responsible for coordinating daily operational activities, optimizing load and scheduling efficiency, ensuring compliance with safety and maintenance standards, managing inventory records, and delivering exceptional customer service to both internal and external stakeholders. This role is central to keeping operations efficient, safe, and customer-focused.
Accountabilities
- Coordinate Operators and Resources Assign, direct, and support operators to ensure efficient daily operations and workflow, including running daily tailgate.
- Optimize Load Capacity and Scheduling Plan and manage routes, loads, and schedules to maximize productivity while minimizing downtime.
- Ensure Compliance, Safety, and Maintenance Monitor adherence to regulations, safety protocols, and proactively schedule truck and equipment servicing.
- Manage Inventory and Documentation Maintain accurate client and company inventory records, reporting, and operational documentation.
- Deliver Exceptional Customer Service Provide responsive, professional service to internal teams and external clients, ensuring needs are met promptly and effectively.
- Tools, Systems, Equipment and Machinery: GPS software, CRM, point-of-sale software, back-office systems, Microsoft Office Suite.
Position Requirements
- Physical Requirements: Office and occasional field-based work environment. Ability to adapt to fast-paced operational demands.
- Travel Requirements: Local travel may be required for operational support. Participation in on-call rotation.
- Working Environment: Primarily office-based with operational field interaction as needed. Standard Monday to Friday schedule and on-call duties rotation.
Communication
· Cross-Functional Communication: Collaborate with operations, safety, and customer service teams to ensure efficient coordination and alignment.
· Team Communication: Engage daily with operators to ensure performance, safety, and adherence to schedules.
· Customer Interaction: Provide timely, professional, and solutions-focused communication to external stakeholders.
Qualifications
· 5–10 years of experience in dispatch logistics. Experience with fuel inventory management considered an asset, but not required for the right candidate.
· Strong knowledge of transportation, safety, and compliance regulations.
· Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
· Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
· Proficiency with relevant logistics, tracking, and office software, including CRM, GPS, Back office software, point of sale and Microsoft Office suite.
Compensation:
· $60-70,000 per year with additional compensation for on call duties.
