Job Overview: Live-In Caregiver
We are looking for a compassionate and committed Live-In Caregiver to join our dedicated team. In this vital role, you will provide round-the-clock support to individuals who require assistance in the comfort of their own homes. The ideal candidate will have caregiving experience, a nurturing personality, and a sincere desire to enhance the quality of life for seniors and individuals with disabilities.
This is a live-in position, requiring the caregiver to reside in the client’s home for scheduled days, offering consistent care, companionship, and safety.
Responsibilities
- Provide 24-hour support, including personal care such as bathing, grooming, toileting, and dressing.
- Assist clients with mobility, positioning, and safe transfers throughout the day and night.
- Offer emotional support and companionship, encouraging conversation, recreation, and mental stimulation.
- Administer medication and assist with monitoring health conditions, noting changes and communicating with family or healthcare providers.
- Perform light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable living space (e.g., laundry, dishes, bed linens).
- Support daily living needs, including meal prep, shopping, appointments, and running errands as required.
- Maintain detailed documentation of care provided and any significant changes in the client’s condition or behavior.
Skills & Qualifications
- Proven experience in caregiving, live-in care, or home support roles; senior care experience preferred.
- Understanding of dementia care and chronic condition management is highly desirable.
- Ability to live on-site with clients for scheduled shifts.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a calm, patient, and caring demeanor.
- Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
- Basic knowledge of home safety, hygiene, and medication reminders.
- CPR/First Aid certification, police background check, and references may be required.
