Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook high-quality African meals according to the restaurant's menu and specifications.
- Assist in the preparation of ingredients, ensuring that all food is fresh and properly stored.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, adhering to food safety and hygiene standards.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient meal preparation and timely service.
- Monitor food stock levels and assist in inventory management.
- Follow recipes and presentation specifications to deliver consistent dishes.
- Help train new kitchen staff in food preparation techniques and safety practices.
- Ensure all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and cleaned.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant environment is preferred, with a strong focus on culinary skills.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in meal preparation.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.
