Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Cook with strong experience in East Asian cuisines to join our culinary team. This is a key role in delivering authentic, high-quality dishes in a fast-paced restaurant environment. The ideal candidate will be passionate about cooking and have a deep understanding of East Asian ingredients, techniques, and presentation. You will be instrumental in ensuring smooth kitchen operations while maintaining the highest standards of food quality, safety, and consistency.
Duties:
- Prepare and cook menu items with a focus on East Asian recipes, flavours, and techniques
- Ensure timely preparation of all dishes to meet service and delivery demands
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized work environment
- Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines, including proper handling and storage
- Assist with receiving and storing food supplies, especially perishable ingredients
- Work collaboratively with kitchen staff to ensure smooth workflow and efficient service
- Monitor and record cooking times and temperatures for quality control
- Help onboard and train new kitchen staff in proper techniques and kitchen standards
Requirements:
- Experience preparing East Asian cuisine (e.g., Chinese, Japanese, Korean, or Southeast Asian) is essential
- Proven background in a fast-paced kitchen or food service environment
- Strong knowledge of kitchen equipment, cooking methods, and ingredient handling
- Solid understanding of food safety regulations and hygiene standards
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Passion for authentic flavorus and culinary excellence
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
